Chinese president Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the COSCO Shippingundefineds Chancay Port in Peru, which is equipped with the "BroadVision" smart surveillance system.According to CCTV News, on the evening of November 14 (local time), President Xi Jinping and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte jointly attended the opening ceremony of Chancay Port via video link at the Presidential Palace in Lima. As a key node in the Belt and Road Initiative, the inauguration of Chancay Port not only marks a significant breakthrough for COSCO Shippingundefineds global port operations, but also symbolizes Chinaundefineds leadership in the development of smart ports. Notably, as the remote vision solution provider, Broad Vision successfully applied its independently developed BroADAS Smart Assistance Driving System in this project. This collaboration serves as a model of how Chinese state-owned enterprises, such as COSCO Shipping Group and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) ZPMC, lead domestic companies onto the global stage, further highlighting Chinaundefineds technological influence in the international port sector.Smart Vision Empowering Port Development

COSCO Shipping’s new Shanghai vessel lifting operations
Chancay Port is the first green, smart port invested by COSCO Shipping in South America, located along the central coastline of Peru. The port features a total quay length of 1,500 meters with four berths: two container berths and two multipurpose berths, capable of accommodating the worldundefineds largest container vessels. The initial design capacity includes handling 1 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), 6 million tons of bulk cargo, and 160,000 vehicles annually. Given that Peru has significant economic growth potential, with approximately 60% of Peru’s economic activities are concentrated in Lima and its surrounding areas, the portundefineds strategic location near Lima offers significant advantages.
